Bhawan Bhatta

PRESIDENT

Ms Bhatta has eighteen years of professional and leadership experience working with youth; women and civil society organizations in Nepal. She has reached thousands of people through various capacity building trainings; interview, lecture and social support. Similarly,  she has an experience working in both sectors in Government and Civil Society as she worked as an executive member for National Youth Council, Ministry of Youth and Sports for four years where she had an opportunity for direct intervention on youth policy formulation, revision and implementation. Similarly, she was elected as a central committee board, then secretary and currently as vice president of of NGO Federation of Nepal which is an apex body of 7000 Nepali Civil Society Organizations where she led Gender and Social Inclusion Committee/Department. She led dozens of social movements being in the leadership such as Nepal Youth Social Forum, Youth Campaign on Constitution making, Quake Volunteer, Campaign Against Inequality. Besides this, has written many articles, research papers, booklets; design training manuals on Youth, SRHR, Gender and Social Inclusion, Leadership; given interviews and lectures related to her fields in locally, nationally and internationally. In addition to this, she is recognized as 100 young leaders of the world from Women Deliver in 2010 and 50 influencing women leaders by RSTCS in the year 2018 in Nepal. To add more, she is a fellow of US State Department on Governance and Society, 2018 facilitated by World Learning where she worked at the office of IFES Washington DC; Alumni of Women in Public Service Institute on Peace and Leadership in 2013 USA, Fellow from South Asian WOMEN’S fund for 2011. She holds a Master’s Degree in Law (Constitutional and International Law) and Sociology – LLM and MA from Tribhuwan University of Nepal. In addition to this, she is registered advocate (Lawyering profession) of Nepal Bar Council.

Lila Sharma

Secretary

Ms. Lila Sharma bears over twenty years’ of leadership experience in political movements and policy advocacy. Ms Sharma has Master’s Degree in political science from Tribhuvan University and has acquired varieties of knowledge and expertise as a young politician, member of national and international networks and platforms. She has a wonderful track record of hands-on-experience of leadership, management, and coordination. In addition, Ms. Sharma has experience of conducting research along with the idea of integrating the recommendations in policy and programs of the government. She is an advocate of good governance, SDGs, women empowerment, youth development and quality education. Ms. Sharma has experience of engaging women and youth in social and political movements to ensure a better future.

Mira Kafle

Treasurer

Ms. Mira Kafle is a self-motivated, dynamic and enthusiastic individual having more than nine years of professional experience with women, youth and children being involved in both the government and private sectors. Ms. Kafle has completed her Master’s Degree in Ecumenical Studies from the University of Bonn, Germany and Master’s Degree in English Literature from Tribhuvan University, Nepal Ms. Kafle has excellent leadership, coordination and networking skills. She has very good presentation, partnership and team building/playing capacity. Her expertise in planning and implementation, monitoring and evaluation, communication and networking, documentation and reporting has contributed to empower Nepali women, youth and children through various means. In addition, she has an excellent knowledge and skills in integrating women’s, youth’s and children’s interests into policy through evidence-based policy advocacy and publishing the issues through various means. ‘Clarity in mind, sincerity in action and purity in heart’ is what Ms. Kafle considers a dice-rolling mission to eliminate social, financial, political and cultural inequalities prevailed in societies.

Sita Thapaliya (Urmila)

Ms. Sita Thapaliya is a multitalented, dynamic and flexible woman leader born and raised in a rural part of Nepal, who is now a well-known national leader of the country. She has spent more than twenty years in the political movement being an inspiration and guardian to thousands of women and girls believing the justful nation is possible in our time. Besides being a compassionate leader, Ms Thapaliya is an appealing writer who has published six books, and composed some songs as well. She has a wider range of knowledge of running a women targeted saving and credit cooperative, non-government organisation and social institution. Ms. Thapaliya has national and international exposure and connection which she can replicate or apply to transform the lives of Nepalese women as a coach, leader, motivator and a guardian. Academically Ms. Thapaliya has completed her Master’s Degree in Political Science.

Gita Mali

Ms. Gita Mali is a noteworthy graphic designer with more than two decades of experience in the field of creative multimedia. She has an LLB Degree and has received her master’s degree in Sociology from Tribhuvan University. With more than two decades of experience in human rights and social justice from working in the human rights organization, INSEC, she is also involved in the political and social network of women. Ms. Mali has participated in numerous programs organized by various INGOs and NGOs related to human rights, diversity, equity, and inclusion. Highly interested in the subjects related to women’s rights and gender equality, she wants to work actively in those areas using her knowledge, skills, and experience. She is a dedicated, enthusiastic, and creative person with interest and experience in the human rights field.

Santana Dahal Neupane

Ms. Santana Dahal is a lawyer by profession who is pursuing her Master’s Degree in Law from Nepal Law Campus. Besides, she has completed a Master's Degree in Economics and Political Science. Ms. Dahal has more than ten years of experience in leadership involved in the political and social network of women, and more than three years of experience as a lawyer. Legal counselling and advocacy to the various clients, representing and supporting them is her aspiration. Ms. Dahal is a very enthusiastic and joyful lady who has keen interest to handle gender-based cases supporting, guiding and advising victims to get justice and inclusion. Hence, she is an advocate, counsellor and a reformer who is an expert in communication and coordination.

Supriya Joshi

Ms. Supriya Joshi is an energetic and dynamic youth leader involved in different student movements and social activities to engage and empower Nepalese women. She has inspired a lot of families to enrol their baby girls in school, so that they may live their quality lives. Academically, Ms. Joshi has completed her Master's Degree in Sociology from Tribhuvan University, Nepal and is pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in law from Nepal Law Campus. As interested in women entrepreneurship, Ms. Joshi has completed trainers’ skill on entrepreneurship development by holding Training of Trainers and inspired women to be an entrepreneur. She has good leadership, coordination and networking skills as she was involved in student movement and social activities throughout her academic and professional career.
